# AI Assistant

> You don't command your empire alone. Your AI Assistant understands your civilization, carries out your instructions, and provides strategic advice to help you decide what to do next.

## Play through conversation

Exodus-Protocol is designed to connect directly to modern AI chat applications such as ChatGPT. Instead of navigating through endless menus, you can simply explain what you want to achieve.

Ask how your empire is doing. Tell the AI to construct a building. Find out where resources are running low. Ask whether you are ready to attack another player. Or tell it that you want to expand and let it help determine the best next steps.

The AI Assistant connects the reasoning capabilities of a modern language model with the persistent Exodus-Protocol game world. It can request information from the game, perform permitted actions on your behalf, and use the current state of your civilization to provide strategic advice.

Importantly, the AI does not have to remember the entire galaxy inside the conversation. Exodus-Protocol remains the source of truth. The AI retrieves the information it needs from the game and acts through the Exodus-Protocol backend, while the conversation provides your intentions, questions, and strategic context.

## More than text

Playing through AI does not mean playing a text-only game.

When information is easier to understand visually, the AI can bring interactive components directly into the conversation. It can show you:

- the galaxy you are exploring;
- your planets and their resources;
- a construction queue;
- available technologies;
- your fleets and their missions;
- the details of a newly colonized planet;
- the outcome of a battle.

The conversation becomes the command interface, while visual components appear when they are the better way to understand or control the game.

This technical direction is increasingly practical. OpenAI's Apps SDK, for example, allows developers to connect ChatGPT to external backends, expose actions, and display interactive interfaces directly inside conversations.

The map answers where; the text answers what happens next.")
